Happy 2019

I would like to wish everyone a happy new year. May your year be happy, healthy and prosperous.

As many of you know I personally gave up New Years resolutions years ago. This year I am making an exception. This year my goal is to stash bust all craft projects in he house, including jewelry, yarn, roving and fabric projects in other words knit, spin, weave, sew, and play with beads. My goal is to finish as many projects as possible. A project will be considered completed when finished, ripped out to repurpose ,thrown into a dog pillow, passed on to some else. Basically just getting it done no mater how. I promise to post as many pictures as possible so you can join me on the journey.

This is the last project I finished in 2018. Row count will be added later.

Music and More

Eric wanted more music in his room. So I spent 35 minutes today cleaning up Eric's dresser and chasing down electrical cords. I landed up with an extra power cord and a charger for a phone brand that we don't even own. I don't even know who left it here.  The remote control needs a new battery, but John will take care of that tomorrow. Eric spent the rest of the day listening to music, with the base to high. I guess he does not like most of whats on TV this season.

I also found another box of crafts that had been in the garage. In it I found my favorite knitting bag, 2 unfinished knitting projects with no patterns. I think that I can finish without the pattern, the other one not so much, it might just be tinking* time. I also found more fabric to make Eric some more blankets, not that he needs anymore blankets at the moment.  One bag full of yarn, I took what I wanted and will bring the rest to knitting next week.

I have also decided that I have too many big project bags. So I sorted through a pile of them. It looks like after the first cut 20% of the will leave the house on Friday. I also have too many yarn storage bags and a few of those will leave the house tomorrow. The deep cleaning is still on going, but at a better pace for my body.

*Tinking  is Knitting spelled in a somewhat backward state.

One Step Back

Well the new fridge and most of the appliances arrived today.  This is where we went backwards. The newly widened doorway was not quite wide enough. We could not open the fridge door all the way.  So the newly widened doorway was made even wider. More electrical was moved.  By 12:30 I had the house back.

I had the quite house to myself for 2 1/2 glorious hours. So I worked on the last charity rag rug. The fundraiser is in a few weeks on October 21st at the Tucson JCC.. It will be for Eric's Day program for special needs young adults.  I have over 4 storage tubs of hand crafted items, many of them one of a kind. It has been a busy summer.

The Downside of Exercise

I am finding the downside of excercise.  No I am not dropping much weight, just inches.  So my clothes are getting too big.  This means that I will have to try on a lot of clothes both in my closet and the the store.  Every thing that is too big will head to Goodwill.

Believe it or not, clothes shopping is something I dread.  I like to limit it to once or twice a year.  It just leaves me sore and tired.  So I will be grumbly over the next few weeks of shopping.  Anyone up for the challenge of shopping with me?

On the other side of my life, I am in a very productive period of time.  Lots of work is getting done.  A lot of crafting is getting done too.

The Pinita's Have Left the House

I spent most of the week working to get the Pinatas for Mr. Matthew's birthday ready to be decorated.  So everything got pushed to the way side while they were finished. Lisa and Matthew picked them up today. I can't wait to see how Lisa decorates them.

It is now time to clean up after the pinata  mess and go back to other crafty endeavors. I have hats and scarfs to knit, yarn to spin and a few sewing projects. Not to mention weaving and designing a few new earrings. So now it is time to get back to my regular schedule.

Finding my Mojo

Eric seems to be on a spring up swing. He is finally feeling better. He has been in the sick kid mode so long that I have seemed to have lost my daily rhythm. I know its only a matter of time before I find my well child mojo. Until then I will be floundering for a couple of weeks. After all I have been in crisis mode since at least October and it will take more than 3 days for me to change mode. So please be patient with me if I seem to be absent minded for a few weeks.  I really do feel lost and out of sync.

So tomorrow I plan on organizing my art projects, all of them.  I tend to knit and craft a little differently when Eric is sick. If you want to see a room strewn with yarn and other crafts ,tomorrow would be the perfect day to stop by and help. Some projects will go into bags and some will come out of bags. There will be a whole lot of color going on. I will also have time to do other things too.

So its time to call it a night before I change my mind and Google Caravel Ice Cream Stores. I have not had one in years but tonight for some reason I wanted one. So do you think they make a non dairy version now?

Life on the Mommy Track

Well it has been a couple of pretty busy days around here, with spinning, knitting, cleaning child care and finally getting Eric back to school today. I took full advantage and got a lot of errands done, the usual and not so usual errands included shoe laces, light bulbs, tall shoes with a 3 inch heel. Guess what!  I am still short when I wear them. I also got a great deal on a new fry pan originally $39.99 I got it for $13.99 and I don't care that it was lasts years model, I really don't think the function of a fry pan changes from year to year. Shopping for dinner. Poor John I really don't feel like cooking so he is getting roasted turkey breast, steamed green and wax beans with rosemary bread. Tomorrow it will be turkey and avocado sandwiches on hopefully rosemary bread ( or I will be back at the store again.),  vegi sticks and pineapple wedges.

I have one room left to do. The craft, guest and exercise room left to do. Yes the ultimate multi purpose room. I know it will be the hardest room yet as I find it hard to part with craft/sewing supplies. But I should really get in there at a few minutes a day until it is done. I am hoping that I get it done before it hits the 100's because I would like to tackle the garage next but will not do that on days over 100f just because I say so.

Well I am headed to the craft room to start. since I have to finish dinner I will not be there long by design. Have a great evening and enjoy your families.

Another Day of Cleaning

Well another day of very vigorous cleaning is done. I am too tired to move. Maybe John will take pity on me and help me make the guest room bed. The guest room door was suppose to remain closed when my sister and mom came for the weekend, but I have cleaned, dusted and vacuumed the guest room for my little sister, my mom will borrow Teri’s room for the weekend, not that she is using her room at the moment. Since we have run out of beds, anyone who is under the age of 10 will be sleeping on the floor.

I am really hoping that John does not mind that I borrowed a little closet space of his just until the company is gone. I had to give my sister some place to hang her clothes.

With a few more hours of cleaning most people who know me well will not recognize the house. With all this cleaning done after company leaves, I plan on working on my quilt; after all there is plenty of empty floor space now. I will have plenty of time for other crafts too. So look out UFO’s and yarn bins you are in my target. I want to fill up my charity knitting bags and my ArtFire shop with new items.

When I find my body (someone replaced my body with blocks of cement) I will do some more cleaning tonight. Since we normally do not have kids in the house I will have to move my meds out of sight and reach. I think I will temporally rearrange John’s closet shelf’s to accommodate this. Well this sounds like more work to me. So off I go.

Have a great evening and enjoy your families.
