Burned Out

I got a little burned out knitting 3 scarfs in 3 days.   Today I started the next scarf, but stopped working on it when the morning news show ended.  Instead I did paperwork and filled recycling bags.  Tomorrow I might even just polish a few drop spindles and play with one or 2 of my new to me ones.  I will also try to lay out the spindle herd to see if a few can go.

Will also list a few more de stash items on Ravelry.  There might even be a few spindles.  Just a heads up.

Keeping Things Mixed Up

My body is definitely giving me a run for my money.  My ankle is feeling better, but I am going to give it a few more days to heal before I stress it.  My hands seem ok today.  My one major glitch is that I am moving as if I was made of 2 by 4’s.

So I got caught up on paperwork. That resulted in 3 full bags going into the recycling bin.  That is always a plus.  Then it was off to play pick up and put away while John was walking for exercise.  We both got about the same amount of steps; however, I got a lot of things put away.

One thing I did notice today is that when I finished my chores today the results of today’s work is at the top of tomorrow’s to do list.  Oh well, it’s time to rest up for tomorrow.

Progress

Today I worked on getting caught up on paper work. This included cleaning out my coupon file, I had coupons that expired in 2018, oops! I got most of my steps putting things away and throwing things out.  I did make my goal of 8,100 plus a few extra.

Our friend Rich knows he is getting this for his birthday, even though it is a little late. So Rich here is the progress on your hat.  I am on the first stripe.  I am half way through the first stripe.  Yes, I did make the brim 4 inches deep.

A Hard Day

It’s been almost two months since we lost Eric. I needed to do Eric paperwork which in it self is not hard, but the emotions will over take me in a snap. I got through about half of what I needed to do.  Then it was time to find smiling pictures of Eric to remember the happier times. Eric had a smile that just lit up the whole room.

After that I went on a small cleaning spree.  I managed to get a lot in the recycling can. I also did 2 loads of laundry.  There seems to be a lot less laundry now. The loads are also smaller.

Before I knew it time had flown. It was time to reheat some stew for dinner. After dinner it was. I needed to figure out how I managed to get 6 eye lashes stuck in one eye. I still don’t know how I did it.  The skin around the eye is still a little tender.  My advice is not to get 6 eyelashes in your eye at one time.

It’s getting late so it’s time to call it a day.

Ugh More Paperwork!

As you can see by my two piles, I am just a little bit behind in filing Eric's paperwork and ordering books on "tape" from the Libaury of Congress. I will start with the filing and then go on to the books.  Maybe I can get one of the two projects off my plate today.  The to be shredded basket and the recycle basket are handy. Wish me luck. Ready set file....

A Very Good Sunday

Today was a very productive day around here. Before lunch I finished 4 loads of laundry, 1 hat, the bills and a news letter.

Eric and I went grocery shopping after lunch.  He is such a good helper, he carried the basket for me while I pushed his chair.

After we got home hat number 2 for the day was finished and a 3rd hat was cast on. Since I knit 2 of the same exact hats, I will only show one hat.  The color combination of the day is blue and yellow.

I am hoping for another great day tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great week.

Well there was 1 hiccup today. Eric's button popped out at 10 pm requiring a new button and change of clothes and some bedding.  I should have know something was going to happen when the kangaroo bag needed to be changed earlier in the night due to an air leak.

I am going to try to call it a night again.

It Was Really Monday

It has been a very busy day around here. A lot of projects are halfway through. The only thing I can really say I finished was the chicken chili stew I made for dinner. I seem to lose focus when I am very busy. I worked on 3 different knitting projects, 1 spinning project, laundry and house cleaning today.

Don't tell anyone but I am saving laundry, paperwork and knitting for tomorrow. I hope to be more focused tomorrow. Wish me luck. Maybe I should make a to do list? I wonder if it will help?

WOW

It has been very hectic since I blogged last. I have still been busy cleaning. I would like to say that for a second week in a row the recycle bin was too full for me to roll out to the street. John has gotten in on the cleaning too. Which means that I need to do more cleaning just to keep up with him. No we are not moving, but have been in this house for 18 years and we have just acquired a lot of stuff over the  years.

Along with the cleaning I have been doing a lot of transnational paper work for Eric. I bet we could save a Forrest of trees if we just input all the information everyone required into 1 computer program and had everyone pull the information they needed instead of writing it over and over in different formats for each agency involved.

The guys made my Mother's Day very special. With flowers, A Thomas the Tank DVD with 24 episodes that Eric picked out, a new purse, dim sum for brunch, and Italian for dinner. During dinner I got a very nice call from Teri, who was taking a break from studying for her last final of her Law School career. I also got a pretty red rose for the guys at Buck's where we go to get out cars tanked up. I had a nice chat with my mom. I am so glad that she will be able to make it to Teri's graduation next week. It has been a while since I have last seen her.

Also Eric is on the mend. He was sick enough that I had no time for anything last week.  Ever the optimist I know things will get much better this week.  Well it is time to do a little spinning and relax.

Not the Blog I Planned

I am sitting in Eric's room writing this blog post on my pod. This is not the post I had planned on for tonight. I was going to write about the birthday cake and show a picture. I can't down load pictures from the computer to my pod with any scence of ease. So as I watch the Good Night Show with Nina and Star I will write this blog post.

Today was not the most productive day in the history of mankind, but I got enough done. I seem to be less productive when I am tired and spend long hours on the phone. I can say with certainty that half the bills were paid. The ones that require hand written checks will ne done tommrow. I arranged a fiber swap and got it packaged to go to the post office. 2 more squares were finished on Teri's never ending blanket. I also worked on the dreaded end of year paperwork.

As we were getting Eric ready for bed John and I decieded that he did not look well. Eric has done a lot of startling tonight, but his stats look good. I think I will decided in about an hour on how long I will stay up with him tonight. I wonder what effect a late night will have on my earlier migraine. On the bright side if it does come back I can have more aspirin.

The Last Few Days

Well your guess is correct. A tired body going into a four day weekend is not a good thing. We still did try to do a few things this weekend. Eric and I saw Larry Crowne. It was a pretty good movie. I would go and see it if you have a chance.  Eric was pretty impressed when Larry Crowne got the teacher. I want to know how Julia Roberts keeps her legs so slender.  I hope that they don't make a sequel to this movie because it was a good stand alone movie. John saw the latest guy movie Transformers. I  also did replace my cell phone so hopefully this one will work better.

The fireworks are on Tivo and I will watch them sometime this week. The rains have started and so far at the house we have had slightly over 1/2 inch. I really do love the summer rains, but for some reason this year I am very distracted and am having a hard time just sitting and watching the rain.

I have not done as much spinning as I had planned to do so far, but I have fibre and spindles, so I will get to play with the fibre.

So we trudged through the weekend and made it to Tuesday, the light at the end of the tunnel. I spent the day doing chores and paperwork in short bursts and most of the knitting I did today will have to be tinked, but such is life in the fast lane. Well it is getting late and I see a long day in my future.

A Mixed Day

Today started out slow and blah. Errands and a trip to the court house to turn in a duplicate copy of the papers we mailed in December that they lost, well actually they shredded them, because we did not put an envelope inside an envelope with a cover memo taped to the inside envelope. And yes I did pay one dollor for an envelope so that I did not have to make a return trip. Now really was that necessary. Haven’t they heard of the save the earth movement and a reduction of paper usage?

So I headed off to the gem and mineral show by Tucson Electric Park. I have got to tell you that two and one half hours was not enough time. I had a fun time shopping and looking around. I missed last year’s show and this show just seemed to grow by leaps and bounds.

I did find some cute little things that are being made into stitch markers and they will have their first showing at knitting tomorrow and if any are left will go to my studio. Eric was a good helper when we sat together to make the stitch markers, I think anytime I am just sitting with him is a good time for him. I have not been this relaxed in a long time. So it is time to go make dinner.

Have a good evening and enjoy your families.
